Just a thought – how similar or different could our visions be of something we all know, something that connects us? Why don't we find out? :)

1. What can be considered art in your opinion and what meaning does it have to you?

2. What are deviantART and the dA community to you? What do you like most and what least about them?

I'm just curious to know your opinions. Answer in as few or as many words as you like. I'll collect your answers in a sta.shed journal which I'll then post separately (and maybe make a definition-like summary in the end).

Thanks for your time and feel free to comment! :)

PS: The questionnaire journal is still open for answers. I'd really appreciate feedback on that as well.

Hello!

I'm quite new here and I was hoping you deviants could help me about something. I'm writing a project for a competition (I'll post more details soon) and my theme is connected to art. So I thought I could do some research through this site.

All you need to do (if you'd like to help) is answer a few questions connected to artworks (mostly) found on deviantART. You could do that by commenting here or, if you'd prefer, through a note. I'd also appreciate it if you could tell others about this or add it to your favourites so that more people can know and maybe (just maybe) answer as well. :)

Thank you in advance for any help and support. Have a nice day! :aww:

:thumb51842738: What Have We Done?     Time was slowly drifting away.
It was a matter, a matter that is, of time.
Before we would end up filled, to the brim if you must, in out own defiance.
What once was, is no more.
For we feel as though we must change, CHANGE.
What was already here.
Some days are blue, and some are green.
Some days are purple, and some grey.
Beautiful though this may be, the sight lies.
What is beneath is something that we caused, yes us.
We turned the grass from green to yellow.
We turned the sky from blue to grey.
We lost what we  needed most, and for what?
To say that "we" accomplished something?
"We"  have accomplished disaster.
Today we seek to leave a mark, on the face of earth, to embed, push into stone, our souls on this dammed world.
What we created is a monster.
A monster stronger then us all.
We can't take back what we lost.
Take one good look around, and tell me, what have we done?
Is this really our world? Is this really our world?
What have we done to it?
Why is the Earth dying?
Tell me, why does it weep?
Just sit down with me, child,
that I may tell you why;
you see, the world has changed,
and not for the better.
It just seems yesterday,
when the waters were clear,
trees, whales and bears still lived,
and the air was still pure.
Now, the world's gone crazy,
locked in destructive gear,
spiralling on downward,
zooming in on the fall.
We can't swim anymore,
or eat the oceans' gifts…
The waters are murky
and contaminated.
We can't inhale pure air -
it's all but disappeared;
what little reach our lungs
are polluted remains.
What are trees, you ask me?
What's a bear or a whale?
Let me show you a book
I kept from the old days…
The trees all have vanished,
Whales and bears have faded,
and before long our past
will have caught up with us.
The balance is tipping
and the Earth decaying,
But listen to me, child!
Hope still lies in our hands…
The seeds of life are here,
strong and healthy again.
